An update

I’m still sick. We still don’t know what’s wrong with me.

I shake (my hands in particular all the time, sometimes my head will do weird twitches and my legs too), I have problems talking SOMETIMES not all the time. I get light headed, get the sensation of falling all of a sudden (if I’m standing or laying down is when I get it. rarely when I’m sitting) I have a sore throat that comes and goes, and if its not sore it feels like something is stuck in the back of it, a cough, belly pain, extreme fatigue

I have broken blood vessels all around my eyes, so I have a bunch of red dots on my face

My blood pressure is all over the damn place. Yesterday it was consistently 130/90 (so not horrible but not good) pulse went as low as 56. Day before I was getting 135/100, then suddenly 113/86, then 130/100 so back and forth

Today. Well. Right now it’s 98/79. My pulse is 93.

That isn’t a HORRIBLE number, and low is better than high, but, I just want someone to tell me what’s going on. What’s making this happen?

I just listened to the studio version of ‘Cell Block Tango’… honestly I’m glad they didn’t put all of it in the ep ‘cause I really didn’t like how the cast did it. It’s like they leeched all the humor out of it…

YET ANOTHER PC GLEE RANT: So I’m listening to the songs in Glee’s ‘The Spanish Teacher’ and I STILL don’t get what the hell Santana was so pissed about.

Okay, guys, this one has been bothering me since I saw ‘The Spanish Teacher.’  Maybe it’s because I live in TEXAS instead of OHIO, but most of the Hispanic people here have VERY direct roots to Mexico.  The main Spanish radio station in Dallas plays only Latin music.  It sounds a hell of a lot more like Mr. Schu’s song than Ricky Martin’s.

By acting all pissed, it just seemed like SANTANA was dissing her heritage to me.  I just get sick of the supposed “Melting Pot” actually being a place where, if you’re from another culture then you damn well better WHITEWASH yourself into ours ‘cause the only way we can manage to imagine that people can be EQUAL is if they all ACT the same! 

It is not RACIST to think of people with direct roots to Mexico as having Latin American culture!  It’s RACIST to imply that all the Hispanic people living here in Texas that stay true to their Mexican culture are somehow NOT AS GOOD, SMART, ETC as the people who act more “American.”  That just means that you see Latin American culture as something BAD, and it’s NOT!  It’s a beautiful culture that has been around for a hell of a lot longer than LMFAO has. 

But, hey, that’s the perspective of a person living an 8 hour car ride from the Mexican border whose Hispanic population makes up 1/3 of the state.  Maybe in Ohio it IS insulting (or at least ridiculous) to imply that a Hispanic person has connections to South American, like the absurdity of those who claim President Obama was born in South Africa.  But here I would say that 95% of Hispanic people are AT MOST two generations removed—their grandparents were from Mexico.  Many are only one generation (parents from Mexico) or are from Mexico themselves. 

Even kids raised in America exhibit a sort of “dual” culture that is a mixture of American pop culture and Latin American culture.  When talking to fellow Hispanic kids they use a lot of “Spanglish” even though they are fluent in both languages.  Oh, and as someone who has taught in classrooms full of Hispanic students saying things I can’t understand, I promise you, their Spanglish is a lot more confusing than Santana calling JUST her grandma “Abuela” and then calling her father “Dad” rather than “Papa”. Take Ricky Martin’s version of “Sexy and I Know It” and imagine that everything you hear is said in back-and-forth English to Spanish like that… or with three words of English followed by three in Spanish followed by two in English.  THAT, my friends, is what it is like to teach in a Texas high school.

“Buenas tardes!  Dude, what’s up, amigo?  I can’t believe that muneca!  He really punched you?  The bastard has los huevos grandes.  Hola Ms. Wilson.  Que quires?  Qué quiere decir, you want my homework?  I didn’t do my fucking tarea.  Just fuck off, por favor.” 

Don’t you LOVE highschool boys?  You know, when you don’t want to STRANGLE THEM?!  lol.

So do what you want Glee, I know you LOVE to cram PC ideas into everyone’s heads.  But do you think maybe next time you could do it without dissing Mexicans? Yup, your PC-ness has ONCE AGAIN MANAGED TO OFFEND!  MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

See, this is my REAL problem with being so damn PC—there is NEVER a way to keep from STEPPING on someone’s toes.  Why?  Because we ARE different and Political Correctness seems to think that’s bad wants us to act like we’re not.  Problem is, I can say that I’m no different from a kid raised by parents from Mexico, but we were not raised the same, so it’s just a lie because that DOES make us different!  Can we please just acknowledge that one is not better than the other instead of pretending like we’re all the same so that we can absolutely, totally be COMPLETELY sure of our equality?

Well, I just took my GRE and all I have left for my Master’s of Social Work admissions is to send the essay! Critique, anyone?

So, looking for critique on my admissions essay to a Master’s of social work program.  The rules?  It needs to have the following three things, in order, and be between 4-5 pages (not any less or more!) NOTE THAT THIS ESSAY IS EXACTLY FIVE PAGES AND ONE MORE WORD WILL PUSH ME OVER THE LIMIT LOL

You know, I certainly don’t mind people encouraging me to finish fic—it really picks me up and makes me want to work on it. I ADORE KIND FANS! But being a anonymous BITCH about it? NOT COOL. I do neat things like work a job to pay my mortgage and hang out with friends and clean the house and wash the clothes. Fanfic gets the time that’s left over after the grown ups of this world PAY THEIR BILLS, okay, Miss Anonymouys “I don’t leave fb on WIPs and usually rarely read them at all for the very reason of having to wait so long between updates - but you saying this wasn’t really a WIP kind of made me think there’d be regular updates? I don’t think it’s bullshit. I get sick of being bashed by almost everyone I know because I’m religious. It gets old, and it gets tiring.

Generalizing Christians as idiotic hate-mongers who are trying to convert or kill people is no better than generalizing the LGBT community as being unstable and mentally ill. Period.

But the OP was generalizing, so apparently that is fine because you agree with that generalization. It is still bullshit.

Some gay people have perfectly valid reasons to hate Christianity. Don’t dismiss their trauma simply because you don’t agree with them.

See, when I read this, all I see is the flip side—that if gays can hate Christians because they feel they are doing something wrong, then Christians should be allowed to hate gays—because, last time I checked, many Christians truly believe homosexuality is wrong.  So, by the logic of gays having “perfectly valid reasons to hate Christians,” Christians should also have the right to hate gays. 

Will someone please tell me why ANYONE is on here promoting ANY kind of hate!  People have “trauma” right and left, that doesn’t mean we should EVER encourage hatred.  I am as liberal, left wing as they come but I am SICK of people acting like it is okay to hate someone who does something you don’t like.  Some Christians are awful to gays, so it’s okay to hate them?  Because they’re doing something you think is WRONG and you don’t like it?  Follow your own logic there—gays are doing something that those Christians think is wrong and they don’t like.  Just because you are lucky enough to live in the generation who is beginning to agree with the gay people rather than the extreme Christians does NOT mean you should encourage hatred. 

“Oh, I have a right to hate them, they were mean to me!” is a cop-out so that you won’t have to face your own immoral actions.  How about we all take a chill pill and realize that it is wrong to hate ANYONE?  Hatred is what keeps people like gays and extreme Christians from being able to bridge the gap.  Most hatred is based on a lack of understanding.  You have no idea how many Christians I have seen come to realize that homosexuality is not wrong because they were befriended by a homosexual and realized that they’re just people like them!  Encourage the hatred and that gap will never lessen and neither group with ever get a fair shake with the other.

I am sorry, but encouraging hatred toward ANYONE, no matter what they have done, is not right.  I hate to pull something out of my Christian hat… but let he who is without sin among you cast the first stone. 

There was a time in my life where I hated extreme Christians fiercely.  I wanted to study the Bible and teach but my church claimed women could not be pastors.  That still makes my temper flair, but now I know that hating them for their mistaken beliefs was wrong.  How would they ever come to see differently if I just hated and cursed them?  Since that time I have often attended that church and my deep knowledge of the Bible, especially the Old Testament (which I majored in at UT!), has deeply impressed many of the men and has started them on a path toward the realization that women are just as attuned to God as they are.  If I had just spat in their faces then that path would never have been started and I would have been no better than they were, instantly casting them off and acting hatefully toward them because we did not agree.

Please, stop acting like hate is EVER, EVER, EVER the answer.  Because in the end, it gets you nowhere good.

Note that designs will need to be cartoonish and detailed enough for the fans to recognize the character while still being general enough to avoid copyright infringement.  This is, obviously, easier with some fandoms than others but is a necessary precaution. 

Pay is good:

$40.00 for the first design, $25 for each additional design, full copyright passed on to me

OR

$15 per design with a shared copyright and a 5% return on every t-shirt or other graphic item using your design that we sell!
